The event, titled “Outsmarting Biofilms: Novel Strategies for Antibiofilm Treatment and Foodborne Disease Control,” was held in a hybrid format, centered at BRIN Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta.

The forum aimed to strengthen collaborative research, share recent scientific discoveries, and develop innovative strategies for health and food safety. I spoke alongside international and national experts, including Prof. Mark Blaskovich from the University of Queensland and Dr. Theerthankar Das from Western Sydney University.

Our discussions focused on the potential of Indonesia’s biodiversity for sustainable antibiofilm solutions, the development of natural compound-based therapies, biofilm infection modeling, and the application of molecular and in-situ detection technologies in the food and healthcare sectors.
